Gerard Bocaccio’s Producing credits include the indie feature films, PLAYING MONA
LISA and BAD GIRLS FROM VALLEY HIGH. His television producing credits include
the People’s choice award winning, MOONLIGHT on CBS; NORMAL for Lifetime;
STRANDED on Syfy; EYE CANDY for MTV; SOUTH OF HELL for WeTV and KLONDIKE
for Discovery. A sampling of Gerard’s new projects include among others, THE
GOOD THIEF’S GUIDE… for Apple+, RED BRICK ROAD for TNT, GUIDANCE and
NAME THE DEAD for WBTV, MY NAME IS BILL for Endeavor Content and PRETTY
WASTED for NRK and the Norwegian Film Commission.


Gerard’s work as a Studio and Network Executive has seen him develop and
associate with award winning content over his 30+ years in the entertainment
industry. As a senior level executive at eOne Television, he shepherded the Emmy
nominated and Golden Globe winning limited series, SHARP OBJECTS for HBO; ICE
for the Audience Channel; YOU ME HER also for the Audience Channel and LET’S
GET PHYSICAL for POP. Earlier in his career while at FX, he worked on among others,
the Emmy Award winning series, THE SHIELD; the Sundance and Cannes Festival
entry, REDEMPTION; the Humanitas nominated telefilm, SINS OF THE FATHER; and
the DGA winning telefilm, THE PENTAGON PAPERS.


He is currently associated with Mark Wolper in his deal at Warner Bros. The Wolper
Organization is responsible for 4 of the most watched events in television history,
ROOTS, THE THORN BIRDS, NORTH & SOUTH and THE MISTS OF AVALON and have
set up a slew of Network and Studio sales over the past few months.


Prior to working with The Wolper Organization, and as a Media Consultant, he
founded his eponymous Bocaccio FilmWorks Consulting label in 2007 where most
notably, he launched Blumhouse Television for the prolific film producer, Jason Blum.
During this same period, he was responsible for guiding the inaugural slate of
original scripted programming for the Discovery Channel while also advising for a
prolific hedge fund in its efforts to acquire a major Hollywood Studio.

As a Producer he’s developed shows for the major broadcasters as well as FX, AMC,
A&E, USA, Syfy, HBO, Amazon, Epix, MTV, Showtime and VH1.
Earlier in his career while working at Warner Bros. Television, Spelling Television, The
Bubble Factory and Silver Pictures Television, he worked on series the likes of
MURPHY BROWN on CBS; THE ADVENTURES OF BRISCO COUNTY, JR. at Fox;
CHINA BEACH at ABC; THE FLASH for CBS; THE COMPANY at ABC; LIFE GOES ON at
ABC as well as MADMAN OF THE PEOPLE on NBC; MODELS INC. for Fox;
SAVANNAH for NBC; KINDRED: THE EMBRACED for Fox and SUNSET BEACH for
NBC Daytime. He was also the Production Executive on 7 feature films, FLIPPER;
Michael Ritchie’s last film, A SIMPLE WISH with Martin Short; John Leguizamo’s THE
PEST; McHALES NAVY; SLAPPY AND THE STINKERS, Tim Allen’s FOR RICHER OR
POORER, and Bette Midler in the Carl Reiner directed, THAT OLD FEELING.

He was also a full-time faculty member at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts
Undergraduate program from 2011 until 2014 teaching writing for film and television,
producing for film and television, production and history of-type critique classes
while also actively engaged in Tisch’s myriad film and television festivals and
speaking series. He has been an adjunct since 2015, having launched the NYU / LA
program in 2018 with his Producing for Film & Television class. In addition to his ongoing
association with NYU, he has lectured at UCLA, Boston University, The
University of Georgia, The University of North Carolina School of the Arts, The
College of William & Mary, the NY Film School and the Columbia College of Chicago.

He has sat on the Advisory Boards for Screenzone LLC and Modern Fidelity LLC and
was a Board member for The Wilton Project, a Los Angeles based Theater company.
A graduate of NYU, he received a BFA in Theater from Tisch having studied with
renowned acting coach, Lee Strasberg for three years. He currently resides in Los
Angeles along with his family.
